No Caller ID Name or the Wrong Name Is Bad for Business

You would never hand out a business card with only a phone number and no name — or worse, the wrong name. So why let outbound telemarketing calls go out without making sure the Caller ID name is populated, and populated correctly?

Your company can't fully control what a called party sees when a call comes in, but you can control the name stored in the national CNAM database against your outgoing phone number. It's then up to the called party's phone carrier to retrieve that name and display it correctly.

Phone carriers subscribe to a shared CNAM database, storing their own customers' numbers and names while also doing a lookup on incoming calls. If that lookup turns up the wrong name — or no match at all — what the called party sees can hurt your business. It's worse still with a toll-free number, since 8XX numbers aren't stored in the national CNAM database at all; most people already assume an 8XX call is a bill collector, a survey, or a telemarketer, and don't bother answering.

As a licensed telephone carrier, Quality Voice & Data ensures the phone number on your outbound Caller ID is paired with a recognizable name displayed correctly to the consumer, helping outbound organizations get a higher answer rate, a lower cost per contact, and ultimately deeper list penetration.
