Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Thank you for visiting our web site. This privacy policy explains how Quality Voice & Data, Inc. (“QVD”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information through this web site and through the CallClear applications for iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. Please read this privacy policy before using the site or submitting any personal information. By using the site, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy. These practices may be changed, but any changes will be posted and changes will only apply to activities and information on a going forward, not retroactive basis. You are encouraged to review the privacy policy whenever you visit the site to make sure that you understand how any personal information you provide will be used.
Note: the privacy practices set forth in this privacy policy are for this web site only. If you link to other web sites, please review the privacy policies posted at those sites. Information we collect and handle in the course of providing telecommunications services to our customers is governed by the applicable customer agreement, our Acceptable Use Policy, and applicable law, including the Federal Communications Commission's rules governing Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) under Section 222 of the Communications Act. See the “Customer Proprietary Network Information” section below.
Collection of Information
We collect personally identifiable information, like names, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and company names when voluntarily submitted by our visitors, such as through our contact and quote request forms. This information is only used to fulfill your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example to add you to one of our mailing lists.
We also collect certain information automatically when you visit the site, including your IP address, browser type, device and operating system information, referring pages, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager and HubSpot, as described below.
Cookie/Tracking Technology
The Site may use cookie and tracking technology depending on the features offered. Cookie and tracking technology are useful for gathering information such as browser type and operating system, tracking the number of visitors to the Site, and understanding how visitors use the Site. Cookies can also help customize the Site for visitors. Some information collected through cookies and tracking technologies, such as IP addresses and device identifiers, may be considered personal information under applicable law, and if you have previously provided personally identifiable information, cookies may be tied to that information. Aggregate cookie and tracking information may be shared with third parties.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies, though some site features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. Where required by applicable law, we honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
IP Addresses & Free Tool Abuse Prevention
Our free tools — including the Caller ID Testing lookup — are open to the public and cost us money on every use, so we record the IP address a request arrives from and use it to enforce per-day usage limits and to identify automated abuse. We use it for that purpose and for security, not to build an advertising profile.
When a lookup is passed to the caller ID reputation service that fulfills it, we do not send your IP address. We send a pseudonymous identifier derived from it using a keyed one-way hash (HMAC-SHA256). That identifier lets the service apply its own rate limits and spot abuse across requests, but it cannot be reversed to recover your IP address, and it differs from the identifier any other operator would produce for the same address.
Your IP address is also seen by two providers who help us run these forms: Google, which scores each submission for automated abuse through reCAPTCHA, and HubSpot, which records the submission in our CRM. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Distribution of Information
We share personal information with service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, customer relationship management, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are permitted to use personal information only to provide services to us. We may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes. We may share personal information with our professional advisors (such as lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers) and with actual or prospective lenders, investors, and their advisors in connection with financing, loan administration, audits, or due diligence, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We may also disclose personal information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our business, subject to the same protections. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
SMS/Text Messaging: Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent collected for text messaging programs will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with vendors and service providers acting on our behalf solely to deliver the messages you have requested. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)
As a telecommunications provider, QVD receives Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) in the course of providing services, such as information about the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of use of the services our customers purchase. Federal law and FCC regulations restrict how we may use and disclose CPNI. We use CPNI to provide, bill for, and support the services our customers purchase, to protect against fraud and unlawful use, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. We do not use, disclose, or permit access to CPNI for marketing purposes outside the scope permitted by FCC rules without customer approval. Customers may contact us using the information below with questions about our CPNI practices.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable state privacy laws (such as the Nebraska Data Privacy Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws in other states), including the right to know or access the personal information we hold about you, the right to receive a copy of that information in a portable format, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to an accounting of the categories of personal information we have disclosed for a business purpose, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
In the twelve months preceding the date of this policy, we collected the categories of personal information described in the “Collection of Information” section above, from the sources described in that section. We disclosed personal information for business purposes to the categories of recipients described in the “Distribution of Information” section. We did not sell personal information, and we did not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell personal information, we do not maintain a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” mechanism.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing of your personal information, you may also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Where we process personal information as a service provider or processor on behalf of a customer — including telephone numbers and call records handled in the course of delivering telecommunications services — requests relating to that information should be directed to the customer that determines how it is used. We will refer you to that customer and assist them in responding.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in the “Privacy Contact Information” section below. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, and you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. Certain information, including call detail records, is subject to retention obligations under telecommunications law and regulation and may not be deleted on request. If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us and referencing your original request.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to our processing of your personal information, you may also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we process personal information as a service provider or processor on behalf of a customer, requests relating to that information should be directed to the customer that determines how it is used, and we will refer you accordingly and assist that customer in responding.
Children's Privacy
Our site and services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Commitment to Data Security
Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.

The CallClear Applications
CallClear is a business telephone application provided by Quality Voice & Data, a licensed telecommunications carrier. Accounts are issued by QVD or by the business customer the account belongs to. Users cannot create an account from within the application.
Permissions the applications use
- Contacts. With your permission, the application reads the contacts on your device and uploads them to QVD servers so the same directory is available on each device you sign in to and so incoming calls can be matched to a name. The application can also add and change contacts on your device. Contacts are used only to provide this directory.
- Your contact card. The application reads your own contact record on the device to populate your profile.
- Microphone. Used to carry a call while it is in progress. QVD does not record the content of your calls.
- Camera. The application software supports video calling. QVD does not enable it, and the application does not capture, upload, or store photographs or video.
- Location. The application software supports location-based features. QVD does not enable them, does not collect location information, and does not share or sell it.
- Files and media. Used to save and open attachments, message media, and profile images, and to store the application's own working files on your device.
- Phone and device information. The application places and receives calls and reads the device's telephone status so it can manage them. It also collects device model, operating system version, application version, network address, and the notification token used to alert your device to an incoming call.
Call and message records
We keep records of calls and messages placed and received, including the numbers involved, the date, time, duration, and direction. These are generated by the telephone network in the ordinary course of carrying the service and are used to deliver it, to bill for it, and to meet our regulatory obligations.
Text and in-application messages pass through the service to be delivered and are not retained in the application's message store. The messaging provider carrying the message may retain it under its own terms.
Diagnostic information
The application records technical logs used to investigate faults. These may include account identifiers and connection details, and are retained only as long as needed to resolve the issue.
How we use this information
To provide the telephone and messaging service, deliver calls and messages, maintain your contact directory, send notifications, bill and administer the account, investigate faults and fraud, and meet the obligations that apply to us as a telecommunications carrier. Certain information about your use of our telephone service is Customer Proprietary Network Information under Section 222 of the Communications Act and is handled accordingly.
Who we share it with
The organization that issued your account, where an employer or other business provisioned it; that organization administers the account and can access its records. Carriers and messaging providers that carry calls and messages to their destination. Business systems your administrator chooses to connect, such as a customer relationship management platform. Suppliers who maintain the applications under contract. And where we are required to disclose by law or lawful process.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising. The applications contain no advertising.
Retention
Account information is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Call and message records are kept for the period required for billing and our regulatory obligations. Contacts are kept until you remove them or the account is closed.
Your choices
Permissions can be granted or withdrawn at any time in your device settings. Withdrawing the contacts permission disables the directory. Turning off notifications will stop calls alerting your device when the application is closed.
Deleting your information
To request deletion of the information associated with a CallClear account, email devteam@qualityvoicedata.com or write to the address below, giving the telephone number or account concerned. Where an employer issued the account, we will refer the request to them. We retain what we are required by law to keep and will confirm what was deleted.
Children
CallClear is a business tool, is not directed to anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Calls, messages, and application traffic are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we maintain safeguards appropriate to the information we hold.
