Direct Carrier Termination
QVD terminates your calls directly with the carriers, not through a chain of aggregators. That keeps your attestation intact and your delivery accountable.
- STIR/SHAKEN authorized since 2021
- FCC Section 214 carrier
- All 4 CTIA BCID™ roles
- A-Level attestation
- Direct carrier termination
No aggregator stripping attestation
Every hop between you and the destination carrier is a chance to lose your A-Level signature. We remove those hops by delivering calls ourselves.
Aggregator-routed vs. direct carrier termination
| Capability | Aggregator-routed | Direct with QVD |
|---|---|---|
| Attestation preserved end to end | Often downgraded | Yes |
| Number of hops to destination carrier | Multiple | Direct |
| One team accountable for delivery | No | Yes |
| Reputation visibility on your traffic | Limited | Full |
Carrier-grade and accountable
One carrier owns the route end to end, so when something needs attention you have a direct line to the people who can fix it.
- Direct interconnects with the major US carriers
- A-Level attestation preserved on every call
- One accountable team for delivery, not a support queue
- Pairs with reputation monitoring and remediation
Only a phone company can truly impact the delivery of your calls. We built QVD from the ground up to solve exactly this problem: direct, authenticated, carrier-level termination. — Joe Scarpelli, President, Quality Voice & Data
Direct carrier termination: common questions
What is direct carrier termination?
It's terminating your outbound calls straight to the destination carriers — AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile — instead of routing through one or more aggregators in between.
Why does routing through an aggregator matter?
Every aggregator hop is a place where your A-Level STIR/SHAKEN attestation can be stripped or downgraded, and a place where accountability gets murkier if something goes wrong with delivery.
Is direct carrier termination the same as SIP trunking?
They're related. SIP trunking is the connection method; direct carrier termination describes who's on the other end of that connection — the carrier itself, not a reseller or aggregator.
Do I need to switch my whole phone system to use this?
No. Direct carrier termination sits underneath your existing dialer, PBX, or Teams environment — the termination path changes, not the tools your team already uses.
